National Junior Beta Club is an organization that recognizes students who demonstrate the four pillars of Beta: academic achievement, leadership, character, and service. Members are students who work hard in school, set a positive example for others, and use their talents to serve their school and community. Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America, and Beta students must be dedicated to leading by serving others. Being part of Beta means challenging yourself to grow as a servant leader.
Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and they have to apply to seek membership in Beta. They must secure teacher recommendations and have outstanding behavior in the classroom and the community.
CMS Beta students attend the State Beta Convention and the Regional Leadership Conference where they compete in events such as academic testing, spelling bee, engineering, performing arts, visual arts, and group challenges just to name a few. Our club has consistently placed in the top 5 or received qualifier status in many of these competitions. When able, we also attend the National Beta Convention.
Our club has planned and participated in many community service events such as: planning school dances, helping with STEAM night, community Spring Fling, Christmas gift collections, cleaning the school auditorium, performing a talent show at the Senior Center, and raised $2,000 for a student to attend high school in Guatemala.
