Candus Claiborne has worked as a Career & Technical Education (CTE) instructor at CMS for the last 26 years.  Ms. Claiborne strives to provide students with “real life” lessons within the CMS Culinary Arts Program.  Students learn not just the science and artistry of cooking, but also the business side of food service.  The focus on project based learning has our students catering after school events, as well as running the CMS Culinary Cafe for the PBIS Program.  Ms. Claiborne works closely with the Positive Behavior and Intervention Supports (PBIS) Program at CMS.  In this successful program, students earn positive points for meeting and exceeding behavior expectations.  The points earned from all staff members go into each student’s personal account.  Students can “spend” their points on a wide range of products and privileges throughout the school year.
